ANOTHER SUCCESS STORY for Northcliffe Nurseries
On Saturday September 17th we entered some vegetables in the West Yorkshire Organic Growers (WYOG) 22nd Organic Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Show.
Everything is judged on taste!
We entered last year and won several classes and this year we did even better. We beat stiff opposition and got 1st prize for our standard tomatoes – Orange Heart. We got 2nd for our beefsteak tomatoes and Highly Commended for our Sugar Plum toms. We also got a shield for our tomato efforts.
We got 1st for our pears
2nd for our marrow
2nd for the chillies
1st and 2nd and highly commended for the wine
1st for the cider
We are already planning for next year.
You are welcome to visit our Tomato Tunnel in the summer where we have over 40 varieties of toms, all different colours from white to almost purple, all shapes and sizes, and most of them not being available in the shops or seed catalogues. Most of these are heirloom/heritage varieties. You can pick and buy.
You can join WYOG for free. They organise lots of things locally. Contact WYOG.org
